font-size: 12pt;\">Les alliages m\u00e9talliques repr\u00e9sentent une cat\u00e9gorie majeure de mat\u00e9riaux utilis\u00e9s dans de nombreuses industries : des grandes pi\u00e8ces pour la production d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie ou la construction aux nano-mat\u00e9riaux pour la miniaturisation des nouvelles technologies, en passant par les transports, le sport, le biom\u00e9dical, etc. Ces industries doivent constamment concevoir des alliages innovants pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 des probl\u00e9matiques toujours plus complexes : am\u00e9lioration des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9caniques et fonctionnelles, r\u00e9duction de masse pour l\u2019\u00e9conomie d\u2019\u00e9nergie, interface avec d\u2019autres classes de mat\u00e9riaux et avec l&rsquo;environnement, recyclage, etc.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: gotham_book; font-size: 12pt;\">The Innovative Alloy Design option offers a set of courses allowing the study of the mechanical and functional properties of alloys at all scales, from their formation to their use, around concrete problems: What are the elementary mechanisms that control the properties of alloys, and their interface with other materials? How can the composition and\/or the microstructure be modified to change their properties?
